Alliance for Community Impact Named Fiscal Sponsor for North Texas Hispanic Journalism Research Initiative    

Partnership supports independent research documenting the experiences and future of Latino journalists across North Texas

DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TEXAS — September 8, 2026 — Alliance for Community Impact (ACI) has joined By the Numbers: Understanding the Impact and Progress of Latino Journalists in North Texas as Community Partner and Fiscal Sponsor, providing nonprofit infrastructure for the independent research initiative founded and led by former journalist Magda Salazar.

By the Numbers documents the career trajectories, challenges, and contributions of Latino journalists who have worked in the Dallas-Fort Worth market — building a historical record, a data-driven portrait of the current landscape, and a forward-looking assessment of the profession. The project also runs a Student Ambassador Program, engaging journalism students directly in the outreach efforts.

"This research is for and about the storytellers of North Texas, past and present," said Salazar. "Having Alliance for Community Impact alongside us provides critical infrastructure, reinforces our commitment to making this work accessible to the people and institutions who can learn from it, while keeping the project itself independent.”
